NorthByNorth Corp (“NxN”) provides private messaging and Internet calling services to users in Canada (“Services”). Your calls and messages are always secured, so they can not be shared or viewed by anyone but yourself and the intended recipients.

 Information you provide

Account Information. You register a phone number when you create a NxN account. Phone numbers are used to provide our Services to you and other NxN users. You may optionally add other information to your account, such as an email address. This information is secured in your account.

Messages. NxN stores your messages online for you to access for 30 days, after which your messages are deleted for your own security. Your message history is stored on your own devices.

 Additional technical information is stored on our servers, including randomly generated authentication tokens, keys, push tokens, and other material that is necessary to establish and transmit messages. NxN limits this additional technical information to the minimum required to operate the Services.

Contacts. With your permission NxN accesses your contacts in your address book and synchronizes these with the phone numbers in messages, this is designed to match contact names and phone numbers so that messages are displayed using names instead of numbers. NxN does not share your contacts with anyone and we do not access your contacts for any other purposes other than to allow your personal messages to be matched to the phone numbers with which you send / receive messages.

Message Attachments. With your permission NxN stores on our servers for up to 30 days, documents, photos, or any attachments you send / receive in your messages. This is to allow these attachments to be accessed by you using the NxN app installed on multiple devices or on the web. The attachments are stored under your account profile and accessible only to you. After 30 days these attachments will be removed from NxN servers allowing you time to save attachments in a permanent location. 

Managing your information. You can manage your personal information in NxN application Settings. For example, you can delete your account which will remove all your data from our servers (Gear (Settings) –> Delete Account). You can also delete specific data without deleting your account by swipping left on individual messages. If you need help deleting your informaton, please send us an email at support@northbynorth.ca

User Support. If you contact NxN Support, any personal data you may share with us is kept only for the purposes of researching the issue and contacting you about your case.

Information we may share

Third Parties. We do not work with third parties and do not share information with third parties.

Other instances where NxN may need to share your data  

  • To meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request.
  • To enforce applicable Terms, including investigation of potential violations.
  • To detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues.
  • To protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of NxN, our users, or the public as required or permitted by law.


 We will update this privacy policy as needed so that it is current, accurate, and as clear as possible. Your continued use of our Services confirms your acceptance of our updated Privacy Policy.
